Our two special turtles have been transferred to the east coast for release with special thanks to the great team at Australian Seabird Rescue for their assistance in collecting the turtles from the Coolangatta airport yesterday and transporting them by road to the Australian Seabird Rescue facility in Ballina. The Green Turtle named Jenelle and Loggerhead Turtles named Alicia were rescue in South Australian waters several months ago and are now in Ballina (Northern NSW) where they will be flipper tagged and released within the next few days. Flippers crossed they do not eat plastic again and live a long healthy life. Special thanks to the AMWRRO Crew for all their hard work over the past seven – nine months of intensive care.
